Our Story
1957
Most legacies start with vision. Ours started with hands finishing what others began.
My grandfather entered a Bhadohi workshop not to weave, but to perfect what weavers left behind.
The work was invisible. The lessons weren't.
1965
My grandmother didn't join the workshop. She built her own path.
Carpet trading. State to state. Buying from artisans, selling to markets. Understanding the gap between craft value and market price.
1984
My father didn't inherit a business. He inherited a question: "Can we make this ours?"
In 1984, he opened his first manufacturing unit in Bhadohi. Not to scale fast. To control quality completely. One technique at a time. One truth at a time.
Each technique took years to master. Each required different tools, rhythms, patience. Most manufacturers specialize. We learned everything.
Why?
Because when you understand all the ways a carpet can be made, you understand whih method serves each vision best. Technique becomes choice, not limitation.
2020
I joined my father in manufacturing. Not to disrupt. Not to innovate for innovation's sake. To understand what two generations had built by not cutting corners.
I spent years watching diffrent carpet techniques. Mastered the process to structure a craft. Learning that legacy isn't inherited. It's re-earned by every genration that chooses to honor it.

The answer came slowly. We've spent decades perfecting how to make carpets. Now it's time to perfect how they find homes.
The Carpetra launches not as a new business, but as a new chapter.
