1. ABOUT THE CARPETRA

The Carpetra is a bespoke handmade carpet and rug business based in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh, India.

We work with residential clients, interior designers, architects, hospitality businesses, retailers, businesses and other customers to develop and manufacture carpets according to individual project requirements.

Our products may be handmade, hand-tufted, handwoven, handloomed, loom-knotted or produced through other artisanal techniques depending on the agreed specification.

2. WEBSITE USE

8. CUSTOMER APPROVAL

Once approval has been provided, The Carpetra may proceed with production based on the approved specifications. Any error in customer-approved specifications may be treated as a customer-approved requirement. Customers should carefully verify:

9. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AND REVISIONS

Where design development is included in a project, reasonable revisions may be discussed according to the agreed scope. Extensive revisions, repeated changes, redesigns or changes after final approval may result in additional charges and/or revised production timelines. The Carpetra is not responsible for delays or additional costs resulting from customer-requested changes.

10. COLOUR AND MATERIAL VARIATION

Colours displayed on screens may differ from actual physical materials due to:

• Lighting conditions
• Camera processing
• Printing
• Natural material characteristics

Natural fibres and handmade materials may also exhibit variations in:

• Tone
• Texture
• Sheen

Such variations are inherent characteristics of handmade products and are not necessarily manufacturing defects. Where colour accuracy is critical, physical samples or approved material references should be requested where available.

11. HANDMADE CHARACTER AND MANUFACTURING TOLERANCES

Handmade carpets are produced by skilled artisans rather than automated industrial processes. Accordingly, minor variations may occur in:

• Texture
• Colour

Reasonable handmade variation shall not automatically constitute a defect. For bespoke projects, any agreed dimensional tolerance will be communicated separately where applicable.

12. NATURAL MATERIALS

Where natural fibres or materials are used, characteristics such as:

• Texture variation
• Shedding

• Slight variation in lustre

may occur. These characteristics can be part of the natural and handmade nature of the product. The Carpetra will make reasonable efforts to manufacture products according to the agreed specifications but cannot guarantee absolute uniformity characteristic of mass-produced machine-made products.

13. DESIGN REFERENCES PROVIDED BY CUSTOMERS

Customers may provide:

• Photographs
• Pinterest references
• Interior photographs
• Existing carpet images
• Drawings
• Artwork
• Patterns
• Mood boards
• Colour references
• Architectural references
• Other visual materials

for the purpose of communicating a desired aesthetic or project direction. The provision of such material does not automatically grant The Carpetra ownership of that material. Customers are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights or permissions to provide third-party material to us where such permission is required.

14. ORIGINALITY AND DESIGN INTERPRETATION

Where a customer provides a reference image or existing design, The Carpetra may use it to understand the customer's intended aesthetic, subject to applicable intellectual-property rights. We do not guarantee that a handmade interpretation will be an exact reproduction of a reference image. Differences may arise from:

• Handmade production
• Material limitations
• Scale
• Colour availability
• Construction technique
• Manufacturing requirements
• Artistic interpretation

Where the requested design is protected by intellectual-property rights, the customer is responsible for obtaining any permissions required for the intended use unless otherwise expressly agreed in writing.

15. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OWNERSHIP

Unless expressly stated otherwise, intellectual property belonging to The Carpetra remains the property of The Carpetra or its respective rights holder. This may include:

• Brand identity
• Logo
• Graphics
• Original photographs
• Original designs
• Product descriptions
• Layouts
• Illustrations
• Videos
• Marketing materials
• Original design concepts
• Other original Website materials

Estimated production timelines are provided in good faith based on the information available at the time of quotation or order confirmation. Handmade production can be affected by:

• Quality-control requirements
• Washing and finishing
• Customer approvals
• Changes requested by the customer
• Shipping or logistical circumstances
• Events beyond our reasonable control

Accordingly, an estimated production timeline is not necessarily a guaranteed delivery date unless expressly agreed in writing.

24. DELAYS

The Carpetra will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant delays. The Carpetra shall not be responsible for delays caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including events described under the Force Majeure section of these Terms. Customer-requested changes may also result in revised production timelines.

25. SHIPPING AND DELIVERY

Shipping arrangements will depend on the destination, order size, project requirements and agreed commercial terms. Delivery estimates are approximate unless a specific guaranteed delivery commitment has been expressly agreed in writing. Risk and responsibility for goods during transportation will depend on the applicable shipping and commercial arrangement. Customers should inspect packages and products promptly upon delivery and notify The Carpetra of any apparent transport damage as soon as reasonably possible.

26. CUSTOMER DELIVERY INFORMATION

Customers are responsible for providing accurate:

Because bespoke carpets are manufactured according to individual specifications, customised or made-to-order products may not be eligible for cancellation, return or exchange once production has commenced, except where required by applicable law or expressly agreed in writing. Before placing an order, customers should confirm all specifications carefully. Any cancellation rights and applicable refund terms will depend on:

After investigation, and subject to applicable law and the agreed commercial terms, we may offer an appropriate remedy where a genuine manufacturing defect is established.

30. NORMAL HANDMADE CHARACTER IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY A DEFECT

The following may not constitute defects where they arise naturally from the agreed construction or materials:

• Minor variations in colour
• Minor variations in texture
• Natural fibre variation
• Minor pile variation
• Normal initial shedding
• Minor yarn irregularity
• Subtle handmade imperfections
• Minor dimensional variation within agreed tolerance
• Natural variations resulting from hand-finishing

The assessment of whether a particular issue constitutes a manufacturing defect will depend on the product, agreed specification and circumstances.

31. CARPET CARE

Customers are responsible for following appropriate care instructions for their carpet. Incorrect:

• Cleaning
• Washing
• Storage
• Installation
• Handling
• Use of chemicals
• Exposure to moisture
• Exposure to excessive sunlight
• Use of unsuitable vacuum equipment

may damage the carpet. The Carpetra should be contacted where professional advice is required for a specific material or construction.

32. WEBSITE AVAILABILITY

We do not guarantee that the Website will:
