Nested Symmetry
Description
Inspired by the meander motif found in classical friezes and the winding logic of old garden paths, MEANDER reduces a single continuous line to its most patient form. Four mirrored quadrants nest inward from a shared center, each corner turning back on itself before it's allowed to move forward.
Hand-tufted in ivory In New Zealand wool, the pattern is carved rather than dyed—raised loop-pile channels catch raking light and throw soft shadow lines across an otherwise tone-on-tone field, so the geometry reveals itself gradually, from an angle, rather than all at once.
MEANDER — the long way, deliberately taken.
